At the General Election in Kettering on 5th May 2005, 55646 votes were cast (approximately 68% of the total number of eligible voters) with the following result:

Philip Hollobone (Conservative): 25401 votes (+2.1%).

Phil Sawford (Labour): 22100 votes (-5%).

Roger Aron (Liberal Democrat): 6882 votes (+2.2%).

Rosemarie Clark (UK Independence Party): 1263 votes (+0.7%).
